Read it
Every match deals you a fresh passage of real percussion notation: quarters, eighths, sixteenths, rests, dotted rhythms and triplets.
Hit it
Tap it in time with two sticks, left and right, over a backing track and metronome. Every hit is judged to the millisecond.

Win best-of-3 matches to climb the ladder and earn Beats for new sticks and drums.

- Does timing feel fair? Run Calibrate first with the headphones or speakers you use.
- Try it on your phone too, turned sideways.
- Anything confusing, broken, too easy or too hard.

Tap Feedback at the top of the main menu. Pick Bug, Idea or Other and type what happened. Your device type and screen size are attached automatically, so you don't need to know anything technical.
Every report is read by the developer.
QUESTIONS
Is it free?
Yes. The beta is free to play. Skins are earned with Beats you win in ranked matches.
Do I need to read music?
No. The tutorial teaches everything from quarter notes to triplets in about five minutes. If you've been in band, you'll feel right at home.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, in Safari or Chrome. Turn your phone sideways and tap the left or right half of the screen. On iPhone, flip the ring/silent switch off or you won't hear the music.
Do I need an account?
No. Just pick a player name. To keep your progress across devices, go to Settings and choose Save Your Progress to add an email and password.
Am I playing real people?
Not yet. During the beta, ranked opponents are practice players matched to your rank. Live matches against other players come next, and beta feedback decides when.
Who can play?
Anyone 13 or older.
PRIVACY
Rhythm Rank collects only what it needs to run the game. Last updated October 29, 2026.
What we collect
- A random ID created by the game on your device, used to sign you in. It isn't linked to your name or phone number.
- Your player name, match results, rank, Beats and skins.
- Your email address and password, only if you choose Save Your Progress. Passwords are stored encrypted (hashed); we can't see them.
- Feedback you send, plus your device type, browser, screen size, game version and audio calibration setting.
What we don't do
No ads, no ad trackers, no selling or sharing your information. Your email is used only to sign you in and, if you ask for a reply to feedback, to answer you.
Where it's stored
On the game's own server in the United States (DigitalOcean). Feedback may also be posted to a private Discord channel the developer reads.
Kids
Rhythm Rank is for players 13 and older. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Delete your data
Email hello@rhythmrank.app with your player name and we'll delete your account and everything linked to it.
